CityConnect is supporting third-sector organisations to help people cycle and walk more in 2021 – offering a fresh round of small grants up to £5,000.  These are intended to enable more people to make every-day journeys by bike and on foot. This may be to improve health and wellbeing, to access employment and training, to support people with physical and mental health conditions or to achieve of the many benefits that cycling and walking brings.

Climate Action Fund – National Lottery Community Fund

Development Grants between £100,000 and £150,000 and Full Awards between £500,000 and £1.5m.

Northern Fund to improve accessibility on the railway

£250,000 scheme to enable community groups to share their ideas for making its trains and stations even more accessible for disabled and older people. It is dedicated to empowering older and disabled people to make decisions which will improve the railway.

Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Support Scheme: Investment Programme

Youth Endowment Fund – Another Chance (diversion from the criminal justice system) – Early notification. Fund opening 19 April 2021

This funding programme will open on Monday 19 April 2021 to find out what works to keep children out of the criminal justice system. The fund will finance diversionary programmes aimed at children (aged 10 to 17) who are already known to statutory bodies like social care, youth offending teams or the police. There is a grant workshop for this fund that you can register for.

Youth Endowment Fund – A Supportive Home (helping families to overcome challenges)

This grant round will open in September 2021 in partnership with Comic Relief. The Funder aims to invest in around 10 to 20 programmes that answer the question of which approaches are most effective in helping families and carers to create a supportive home environment for 6 to 14 year-old children (including looked-after children), reducing the likelihood of them becoming involved in violence.  Workshops for this fund will take place in August 2021.

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust Announces 2021/2022 Funding Programmes – Funding programmes to support the UK’s Armed Forces communities with post COVID recovery, with initial application rounds starting in April 2021. Three programmes will open for applications in April 2021; Armed Forces Covenant: Force for Change, NAAFI Fund and Sustaining Support for Armed Forces for Communities.  Two programmes are expected to launch in Summer 2021; Strengthening Delivery of the Covenant: Sustaining Impact Programme and Supporting Veterans in Acute Hospital Settings.

 

NFU Mutual Community Giving Fund Announces 2021 Deadlines – Funding for community events, charities, schools and community groups activities that are local to NFU Mutual’s business operations across the UK. The Fund offers grants of up to £1,000 for projects that fit their main areas of interest. The 2021 deadlines are 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 30 November.

 

Ragdoll Foundation 2021 Deadlines – grants are available to support arts, cultural and youth-focused organisations working with children and young people in the UK through the arts, artists and creative media. The small grants are available up to £1,500 and the main grants are from £5,000 to £20,000.  The 2021 deadlines are 7 May 2021, 2 July 2021 and 27 August 2021.

Community Champions and Live Well Small Grants

Wakefield Council has commissioned Nova Wakefield District to deliver an additional round of the existing Live Well Wakefield Small Grants Programme. This funding has a set of specific outcomes drawn from the Government Covid Community Champions programme with two key areas of focus:

  • Covid Messaging and Support
  • Vaccine Messaging and Support

Applications are encouraged from organisations working with or within specific target groups of people. Nova are particularly encouraging smaller groups and organisations to come forward and bid for funding, with help provided.
