Joint International Call on Healthy, Resilient and Sustainable Agricultural Soils to be Launched in April.    The European Joint Programme on Soil (EJP Soil) has issued a pre-announcement of its first external call – Towards Healthy, Resilient and Sustainable Agricultural Soils.  The call is expected to be launched in April 2021.  The objective of the call is to foster holistic agricultural soil management practices (forestry soils are not excluded) which will assist in making a shift to diversify farming to include a variety of sustainable and environmental practices.  To achieve this aim, knowledge about SOC sequestration and biodiversity is essential.

Projects supported by the call are also expected to contribute to one of the following main impacts of EJP Soil:

Fostering understanding of soil management and its influence on climate mitigation and adaptation – sustainable agricultural production and healthy environment

Understanding how soil carbon sequestration can contribute to climate change mitigation at regional level, including accounting for carbon.
